Celebrating National Computer Science Education Week 2017 at Codeverse!

National Computer Science Education Week is December 4th- 10th, 2017! We at Codeverse could not be more thrilled. We'll be hosting an exciting pre-NCSEW events, as well as two workshops and a panel discussion during the week itself. Check out the details below:

1. Girl Scouts Girls Only Coding Workshop $49
Friday, December 1st, 6:30 to 7:45 p.m.


Codeverse has teamed up with the Girl Scouts of America to present an exclusive Girls-Only coding workshop! Join us at our studio from 6:30pm-8:00pm for a night of tech, fun, and ultimate girl-power! Snacks and drinks will be provided for attendees.

2. Parent Workshops- Coding 101 for Parents Free

Monday, December 4th 10 to 11 a.m.
Friday, December 8th 10 to 11 a.m.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to code but don't know where to start? Does your child know how to code and you want to understand what she/he is doing on the computer?

If the answer to one of these questions is yes, then this is a fantastic free event for you to attend!

On Monday, December 4th, and Friday, December 8th Codeverse is hosting a free coding workshops for parents! During these one-hour free workshops, parents will engage in a hands-on, collaborative coding experience at our studio in Lincoln Park, where they will learn the basic concepts of coding and interact with a room full of cutting-edge technology, including: movable color-changing spotlights, 3D printers, robot arms, speakers, a 20 foot TV wall and much more using KidScript, our programming language!

3. "Why Kids Should Learn to Code" Panel Free
Tuesday, December 5th 5:45 to 7:00 p.m.


On Tuesday, December 5th, Codeverse has invited Keisha Howard (Founder, Sugar Gamers), Baker Franke (Curriculum Director,, Moira Hardek (Director of Learning & Engagement, CodeNow), Rayna Yaker (Managing Principal Consultant, RYE Consulting) to talk about why it is crucial, in this day and age, for kids to learn how to code!

The panel will be moderated by Codeverse VP of Growth, Shuchi Sharma.

4. School Field Trips Free

We invite all Chicago schools to participate in NCSEW! We have open spots available on December 5th-8th for schools to join us for a FREE 60-75 minute coding session. Are you an educator or school administrator interested in booking you class for a coding session at our state-of-the-art studio? Contact Shuchi Sharma at for more information!

5. 75-Minute Coding Class for Kids Free

Is your child age 6-13 interested in coding? Sign up for a free coding class at our interactive studio. Your child can program our concert and strobe lights and build their very own game during just one session!
